New World Order: The Beginning [ARC 1]

[Sakura Alexia]

"She's lied to me about everything, even after I knew what I was" Cynthia frowns.

"I haven't called anyone"

[AquilaTempestas]

Zinnia nods.

"I know. Before we left, I told Jacob to drop by in a few hours... And now he's here. I can't exactly turn him away."

[Sakura Alexia]

"I see, well I would still let Lance rest first, they can sort things out later"

[AquilaTempestas]

Zinnia doesn't get a chance to reply when the door flies open.

Jacob storms in. Karen waits outside. The noise startles Lance who wakes up.

They look at each other. "You look like your mother," Jacob remarks quietly.

"Haven't you heard of knocking before?" Lance replies, a bit annoyed. 

"I sensed there was trouble so I came as quickly as I could despite Zinnia's warnings."

[Sakura Alexia]

Cynthia looks at them both and stands between them.

"Lance, Jacob, please calm down" she looks at Jacob now. "Sabrina wanted to give Lance to Grimsley and his vampires, we managed to get him out and take him here, thing is, he was bitten, so he isn't totally in his right mind yet. I would suggest to let him rest up before having any important conversation, if you don't mind"

[AquilaTempestas]

Lance nods. 

"No. I want to hear what he has to say." He approaches his father. 

Jacob looks at the bite on his neck. "That will take several days to heal hp." 

[Sakura Alexia]

"Are you sure? You might not remember it, and, you might say stuff you don't mean to" Cynthia looks at you both with concern.

"Just keep an open mind about it, both of you, and do try to be reasonable, last thing we want would be a fight between you two"

[AquilaTempestas]

"Like you even care," Lance replies. "It takes you over two decades to finally show up."

"I wasn't able to."

"If you really wanted something, you would have found a way. Your memories of me were cleared I hear. But you could still sense me because of being a wolf. Yet that didn't matter. I had to be raised by grandfather... Because you weren't there to do your job."

[Sakura Alexia]

"Could you let him explain at least? I'm sure there's a reason why he couldn't be there"

[AquilaTempestas]

"I thought you would be better off with him. What could I do for you? I had no home. No job. I couldn't raise you. You needed someone who could."

"You triggered it then."

"When your mother died, it activated. I didn't kill her. Not directly. She died after giving birth. I had a role in getting her with child. It counts. I couldn't be around you." 

 

[Sakura Alexia]

"You were ashamed, guilty even, weren't you?" Cynthia asks softly, she was feeling sorry for him, for them both.

[AquilaTempestas]

 "Correct. I didn't know what was happening, but it didn't feel right. Sabrina found me shortly after. Said she could help. I didn't know about witches either soon accepted her help. She told me what I was. Said I couldn't go back to the old life." 

Lance frowns.,"She had been following you." 

"I believe so." 

"You still ended up in jail." 

"She told me you were dead and she erased my memories as a way to move on."

[Sakura Alexia]

"It was only a way to get you out of her way and get to Lance, from what I've seen I assume she would be capable of it, and even worse"

[AquilaTempestas]

Jacon nods.

"If she had you, why would she want me?" 

"I was in prison. She could not get to me there. Her daughter died. It was during a full moom and I was mad. The girl was in the wrong place at the wrong time. So I was sent to prison where I have been up until recently. Karen got me out. She gave my memories back. "

[Sakura Alexia]

"Its not too late, you can't get back the years you've lost, but nothing can stop you from supporting each other now. It was all Sabrina's fault, as always, and she has to pay, but we won't get her down if we separate"

[AquilaTempestas]

"How exactly can she be stopped?" 

"Find her original bones and burn them," Jacob explains. "She's been alive for a thousand years jumping into new bodies."

"And where these bones?" 

"In the heart of the Mt Coronet. She hid her original bones well. It took a lot of work, but Karen was able to locate them. It has taken decades."

[Sakura Alexia]

"That's where my mother was buried too, Morty gave me this" she shows them the key.

"I don't know for what this is used for, I just know he gave it to me, what I know is that my mother is there too, and that Sabrina killed her too, because she knew too much"

[AquilaTempestas]

He looks at the key. 

"Morty?" 

Karen enters. "He is one of those necromancers I told you about. No one really knows what side they are on, but they are always near death." 

[Sakura Alexia]

"We haven't met in the best of terms, but I got to know him better, he's the one that told me the real truth about my family, and about Sabrina" Cynthia says.

"He's also a student in our university, so it isn't hard for me to reach him"

[AquilaTempestas]

"Can he be trusted?" Jacob looks at Karen. 

"No. Like I said, their intentions aren't known. He could be helping you for other reasons. In helping you... He could be moving closer towards his own goal. I say keep him close." 

[Sakura Alexia]

"Well I don't trust him fully, I haven't forgiven him for using our friend Lyra for his own goal, but what I can say is that he doesn't appear as evil as Sabrina, so far. He says he has orders to follow, that's all he shared with me"

[AquilaTempestas]

Karen frowns. 

"And we don't know who those leaders are. Dammit. You need to find out who those people are."

"How does that help us?" Lance says. 

"Always helps to know who else wants Sabrina dead and why. The necromancers could do it themselves... So I'm interested in knowing why they would give you the key."

[Sakura Alexia]

"What I know is that my mother once asked for their help, Sabrina was chasing her and she needed their protection, I would assume they did because I'm her daughter and expect something from me" Cynthia says.

"My own grandfather told me so, he should be dead, but Morty resurrected him, I don't know why, but I believe him, given that my grandmother pretty much lied to me for my entire life"

[AquilaTempestas]

Both Karen and Jacob frown. 

"Just watch your back, Cynthia. I fear you may be set up for something greater," Karen says. 

"What are we supposed to do?" Lance says. 

"First things first. We deal with you. Tomorrow is your first moon. After that. Cynthia should meet up with Morty and learn more. Then we can visit Mt Coronet." 

[Sakura Alexia]

"I know, but its late to run now" Cynthia sighs.

"Its been a long day, I suggest we rest first, we can't do anything if we're too tired"
