Damn. It's certainly been a long time since I wrote anything in this, but I feel now is a great time to do so. I'm in creative writing mood so better ride the high while it lasts. Although it's not the end of the year yet, there's only four weeks left so I'm making one of those reflection posts. This year has been a mixed one. It started off poorly, improved a bit then dropped dramatically to an all new low before lifting to incredible heights. At the start of the year, I was still at my old workplace, slaving away for a shitty boss and a stuck up bitchy supervisor who liked picking on people much younger than her. I would get blamed for everything even if it wasn't my fault because I was such an easy target for them to harass. They got away with it because they knew I needed money. I hated being here. Mentally, I felt like crap every time I walked into that horrible place, but I got through it somehow. I was constantly threatened with being fired over little things like not being able to do a shift because of reasons and such. I was then terminated in March for being a deceitful liar and telling my boss that she was shit. Short story? Boss sends me a text message giving me a chance to explain about the keycard. I never had it. Another girl who left took it home with her and never returned it so of course it's my fault. I happily offered to pay for a new one (they're super cheap) and she accepted it. Something happens to change her mind. One hour later she decides to fire me. I send a text message back saying that's not fair and I should have the right to explain myself in person, and she agrees to meet on Friday. It's currently Tuesday. I said I couldn't do today because of uni stuff. She then threatens to fire me on the spot so I have to make plans and sacrifice uni work to see if I can fight to keep my job. It was supposed to be a meeting between me and her. I get there and she gangs up on me with her bitchy supervisor who is there just to taunt and mock me. Never had I felt so humiliated in a long time. These women are over 35 years of age and they're acting like bloody high schoolers. I told her what I thought. That this place is horrible anyway (we were terribly under performing financially) and I don't feel happy working here. I told her what I thought of her; shit boss who doesn't know a damn thing about running a business (she kept getting fined by the head company). They both decided to taunt me, call me a liar and trawled through my facebook profile to use things against me. I said I was entitled to worker rights. I had worked at this place for three years, and casual workers have bloody rights too. She said I didn't know a damn thing and if I tried anything, things were going to get really messy for me. This is the woman who blamed me for shit coffees when she was the one who made them. This is the woman who threatened to fire me because I stayed back at work for an extra hour to help with a customer rush and we were struggling badly. This is the woman who told me she was working at another job that paid 150,000 dollars a year... Why the fuck are you working at a shop that can't even make 1000 dollars a day then if that was so true? You told me a bunch of shit. You constantly complained about customers being bitches when you have nothing yourself. I can see why you were divorced several times. You bitch about people constantly because you yourself are a piece of shit stuck in a crap job that's no better than working at a fast food store. This same woman (if you could even call her that) tried to persuade my friend who works there still to steal money and hide the tax receipts from the head company. We had such a high turnover rate because of her inability to do anything right, but can you really expect anything great from someone who has a porn shed in the backyard? (went to her place for a christmas party once in her first year... she wasn't so crazy then) Although I was happy to leave, getting fired (and she started spreading false rumours that I got fired from another workplace... Which was untrue, and she lied to my other friends there... Telling them I was the horrible lying person and they were glad to get rid of me. They don't believe her because she's a shit head to them too. What right do you have to call your workers idiots in front of customers? You work at a bloody cafe. This is your life and you are over thirty years old and you work at a crap cafe. Well done. That's not going to be my life because I won't become a tool like you. Anyways... This left me in a shit position though. I had no income, and every job I applied for, I got rejected. I must've applied for at least fifty jobs and got rejected for every single one. I called Fair Work Australia to ask them for advice - they said I was right - casual works have rights when my boss said I didn't have anything and didn't deserve to be treated like a human being. For four months I lived on my savings. I was depressed as hell and feeling like shit every single day. No job. No money. Nothing I can do. Then I started feeling a bit jealous of all the other people around me living perfect happy lives. Having good jobs. Having their own houses. Having their own cars. Enjoying life and travelling. Getting married etc. And here I am sitting at my parent's place wondering what sort of shitty things I had done in the past to make me end up in a position like this. There were times I thought that perhaps being dead would be better. At least I wouldn't have to worry about money. I had one last option - apply for full time study to get government financial help for the duration of your degree. I didn't have high hopes for this. I was getting rejected for everything else, so I'd probably get rejected for this as well - I did for my first degree. June arrives. I'm onto my last few dollars. I'm reaching the point where I feel like a complete utter failure in life. I failed in every aspect. I wasn't a great student at school and never specialized in anything (like social clubs, sports, music etc) because I was just average in all walks of life. I didn't have any friends either - highschool friends just moved on. They got married. Had kids. Moved countries. Got jobs. They had lives and no time for people who didn't have any like myself. I almost ran out of money to fund this forum as well, and it's become such an integral part of my life, that losing it would've probably driven me over the edge. There would be nothing worth living for. I'm sitting there contemplating what I had achieved in life and came up with nothing. I wondered if I was carrying the loser gene - maybe some people were just meant to be unlucky and never succeed. Maybe I deserved to get fired. Maybe I deserved to be treated like a moron. Maybe I deserved to not be happy. Maybe I was cursed to live like a loser. I apply for an Education degree at my former uni from which I graduated with a business degree from. I didn't think I'd get accepted. Didn't believe I had met the requirements since I applied at a time where recent graduating high school students get picked first. I certainly got a surprise in late June when I got accepted into my former university in the Education/Arts dual degree program to become a secondary teacher. A job not at all related to business and hospitality. A way out of that crap industry. An industry where the intake was quite high as we're in a desperate need of teachers (since Australia is basically a service based country anyway and machines are taking over many jobs). I thought about being a teacher when I was younger, but didn't think I had the confidence and maturity to do something like that. Now it's my only option. Being accepted into this degree allowed me to apply for government help. I got accepted. Things were finally starting to look up. I had money again. I could afford public transport (I don't have a car and no license because I never had anyone to teach me and never had the money to fork out for lessons which were over 50 dollars per lesson which of course only made me feel like more of a loser). I could purchase things like textbooks to keep up with classes. Money does bring happiness - without it, you can't do a damn thing. Anyways, my fortunes continued to rise. Having income again immediately made me feel much better. I could save up money again. I started writing in October after not having done anything since 2016. I was scoring reasonably well in my assignments (had a slow start, but improved dramatically as the semester went on). I could afford the forum again even though we're now on a cheaper plan that can't cater for a full day chat room. I can start saving money to purchase a car and with my age, I can just go for my provisionals (unsupervised driving) without having to complete 200 hours of practice driving time (which was going to be impossible). All I need to do now is take four lessons for exam information then go for it and done. Anyways, come the end of November. I exceeded my own expectations on grade results and did great (didn't fail anything - that's all that matters to me). I've finally recovered my financial losses during that period of time I had no income. Relationship with parents improved dramatically. Heard back from a friend I hadn't seen since 2016. Romance life is still non-existent (will most likely remain that way until the day I die because all the guys I've met so far have been boring as hell and want things I don't and do things I don't feel comfortable with), but I'm more concerned about getting life back in working order than social interactions in that department. Mentally, I feel in a far more positive mindset than the first half of the year. I can't recall many days where I've been sad and depressed. Physically, I also feel good. Been doing a fair of bush walking with my cousin which is always nice. I've almost completed my massive writing project which started in 2014. Another month and finally it will feel truly complete. The next step is then getting it self published just for my own personal glory and to remind myself I actually achieved something. Now I'm on summer holidays which lasts three months here in Australia so I'm just enjoying it and getting things done before university starts up again. The goal? Get some novels published. Get my driver's license sorted. Have a short vacation. Continue working on fitness levels and continue saving up money for a car and the adventure holiday I want to eventually do. I don't normally enjoy Christmas because it's the same old thing each year where people just try to brag about how much better they are than me and don't appreciate the presents you buy for them, but this year I actually want to enjoy it again and I'll be better prepared for it. So, here's to 2017, a year that started off poorly, got worse and got to a point I thought it would be a short 2017, but things improved and I'm still here (obviously) and aiming towards a far better future.

@Mr Selfish @Kage @Laggy @Shizophrenia @Bunny Hop! @FishSlayer @MasKaiHilFantic @Nirianne @deviLz (this will help you understand the RP better, Mas) November 30th, 2017 So I got distracted by Sims 4 over the past few days and didn't play Dark Souls, but the excitement has worn down and it's back to the world of the dead. I hope you enjoy this entry (and if you like this set up of a narrative aided by visuals I will continue it. I have so much free time until February I can do this). Chapter Two: Lucifer is a Beautiful Person Lucifer woke up and found herself in a cell. It was pretty crappy. No one came to feed her. No one gave her water. And worst of all? She didn't have a chance to bathe or anything so she was stuck wearing the same clothes which after a few days, became quite smelly. But she kept them on because she didn't like the thought of sitting in a cell with nothing on even though there was no one around to see her. It dawned on her she was supposed to die here and become the undead like everything else. She could hear their groans echoing in the hallway and was saddened by this. But one morning a miracle happened and some kind soul dropped a key for her. Hurrah for civilization, she thought. She happily took the key and freed herself from the prison then wandered down the hallway, beating up some undead creatures because why not? She was mad and needed to unleash her frustrations on some poor souls. Eventually, she came to a fireplace and accidentally got too close and burned herself. But that was okay because it reminded her she was still somewhat alive. The rest of her body didn't look quite alive. In fact, it looked like she had been cooked on a fireplace (maybe that's where there was a bonfire there - someone had tried to cook her) or had a very extreme case of some skin disease that made her look like she was dead. That wouldn't be surprising considering her lack of treatment in the cells. Surprisingly though, she was very much alive. She could jump. Make funny noises. Swing her arms and hit stuff, and most importantly, fist pump. Anyways, she ventured through the prison, entered an open space and screamed as a big demon fell through the ceiling. It had a big club. She ran away in fear and fortunately, the demon was way too large to come through. She kept following the path (and found another bonfire) and got hit in the face by an archer. It hurt. Angered, she charged after it and killed it then had to take a few seconds to catch her breath because she was very unfit. She also found some cool weapons. She continued. She soon found a man trapped behind a wall. She wasn't sure how he had ended up there, but finding him was just purely luck. She was going to head up some stairs when a big boulder came rolling down. Fortunately, her instincts told her to jump out of the way early and she did, narrowly avoiding getting flattened. The boulder hit the wall, smashing it. She talked to the sad man and he gave her some Estus Flasks. Apparently, it's quite a popular beverage here. It tastes a bit like Coke, but looks like fizzy orange juice. Anyway, she had some and felt her spirits lift. She then left the poor sad man. She walked up the stairs and beat up the undead creature that tried to kill her. She moved on and found more things that wanted to kill her but she taught them a lesson (whilst taking a few arrows to the chest like a boss) and picked up a fireball spell. She saw a foggy door and was scared. She decided she didn't want to go there just yet and moved on entering another room. There was a single armoured soldier watching her. There were some strange orange glowing messages on the floor. It had to be sorcery, but she checked them anyway. Apparently, this room was supposed to help people parry so she tested it and succeeded, learning a very important life skill. Filled with great determination, she found the strength to walk through the foggy door and faced off against the big demon she ran way from earlier. She emerged victorious! What a simple fight. She carried on through the big doors and eventually got picked up by a giant crow and carried off to a land far beyond the mountains...

The New Main Feature for 2018 It's been mentioned before, but not explained in great detail. The big new feature coming in 2018 update is called 'Clubs' This information comes directly from IPB itself: Club Types Four types of club are available: Public clubs Clubs that anyone can see and participate in without joining. Open club Clubs that anyone can see and join. Closed club Clubs that anyone can see in the directory, but joining must be approved by a Club Leader or Club Moderator. Non-club-members who view the club will only see the member list - not the recent activity or content areas. Private club Clubs that do not show in public, and users must be invited by a Club Leader or Club Moderator As the site admin, you can of course configure which club types can be created and by whom. You could, for example, allow members to create public and open clubs, but allow a "VIP" group to also create Closed and Private clubs. Club Users Each club has three levels of user: Leader A leader has all of the permissions of a moderator, and can add other moderators. They can also add content areas (see below). The club owner is automatically a leader. Moderators Moderators, as the name implies, have the ability to moderate content posted within the club. As the site administrator, you can define which moderator tools can be used. You could, for example, prevent any content being deleted from clubs, but allow it to be hidden. Moderators can also remove members from a club. Users Anyone else that joins the club. Club Content Club Leaders can add a variety of content areas to their club - forums, calendars, blogs and so on. It's important to note that these content areas are fully functional just as if they existed as a top-level admin created area. They will appear in search results, activity streams, users can follow them, embed links to them, and so on. If a user has permission to see a forum (for example) within a club it will behave exactly like other forums they see - and the same for all other kinds of content. Each content area a leader adds can have a custom title, and will appear in the club navigation. This means, for example, that you can have multiple forums within a club, and give each a different name.

New Staffing Changes for 2018 There are a vast number of changes taking place in the 2018 update which is going to change around the positions in staff. Main Staff Administrator [1] Moderator (now with a half functioning chat room, I don't think chat and board moderators need to be separated) [5] So basically, keeping threads tidy (if you think something needs to be moved, just let the others know), monitoring threads, watching over the chat room (this isn't a major problem anymore), answering support and feedback questions, helping with information guides and planning for future forum events). If this sounds like you, this is the role for you! If you don't want to be a moderator anymore, let me know Forum Leader One of the new additions to the board in 2018, is a feature called Clubs. There'll be more about this later, but basically it's managing a mini forum on this board. These people post challenges about their club topic (for example writing) and they manage the responses to it and set dates in the calendar) [3] Writing Leader [1] Games Leader [1] Arts Leader [1] Community Leader (actively spamming in threads!) [2]. You'll be that person creating quizzes, answering threads on a frequent basis your name will be known by everyone, selects the member of the month, creating topics, managing the dumb debate of the week, coming up with the fortnightly poll) Promoter (these people run our social networking accounts and try to recruit as many people as they can on a monthly basis) [4] Members Platinum Member [the right to a private club members that have reached 1500 posts can access. This club will not show up for anyone who hasn't hit that number] Gold Member [gold members have hit 400 post. They can edit their own posts, upload a song, change member title] Silver Member [gain access to use the chat room, and must have 20 posts] Bronze Member [people under 20 posts. Generally a good indicator of who is not coming back] Banned

Science fiction/fantasy, dark fantasy, suspense, drama, angst, or horror with action. They all include humor, adventure and a wide range of characters with a penchant for trouble. I write to entertain myself. The story doesn't start until something happens—like someone doing something horrifically stupid.

Hello there! You may have or haven't heard of me before, but I'm Nirianne. I used to be (or at least, somewhat) active on Fanficton.Net uploading god-knows-what stories. Nowadays, I spend a lot of my time writing original stories, etc. Yada yada yada. Nothing new. I'm a gamer, but not avid in nature. I play whatever looks good, to be honest. I have a buttload of indie games which I have *yet* to play... some day. I read comics, I eat food, and yeah, yada yada yada. I'm quite a random person who doesn't take life too seriously coz let's face it; I've had it explode in my face so many times, it's a joke now. I write lots, but I don't say much. So yeah... HI GUYS!

"Sun? SUN?" Blinking twice Sun Wukong opened his eyes, blinding sunshine causing him to squint at first as his pupils adapted to the new light conditions he wasn't in Asgard anymore, not with this heat. No, now he was back in China. Extending an arm to block out the sun from his eyes something was amiss, his limb and hand had shrunk, come to think of it so had the rest of him he realised after patting himself down. Suddenly, what felt like a large bamboo stick smacked him over the head, calling out in shocked pain and shielding his head from another blow his eyes fell upon the person responsible, and who had been calling his name. Tao, one of his old monk mentors, he sat in the lotus position and glared at him expectantly. "Focus!" "Oh, err right, sorry." Sun replied and got back into position, eyes closed, legs folded, hands rested upon them whilst head and back straightened up. This scenario, it was from his past, back when he'd started training under the monks when they offered to guide him on controlling his powers and teach him new ones, so long as he followed their teachings and lived with them during this learning period. Despite how his attitude evolved it wasn't all fun and games, during meditating sessions such as these you were expected to keep complete focus and clear you're mind, if you didn't you're posture soon gave you away and a disciplinary smack from the bamboo cane wasn't far behind. "Good. If you want to get stronger, learn how to master your powers and grow them, you need to be dedicated to the path of the Monk." ".....Yes, master." ".....You have great potential Sun, and have the capability to achieve it, but....." Tao would always lecture him during these sessions when he was younger, always telling him about his potential and the importance of following the Monk path to remain in control of his powers, saying that without learning control Sun would easily become a symbol of chaos and destruction. "Without dedication you will fall, and become the embodiment of chaos and destruction, order shattered, many innocents would perish." Being remind of this daily fed into the insecurities Sun tried to keep buried deep down, he didn't want to cause pain and suffering, but law and order were just so boring. Torn between law, order, chaos and destruction Sun Wukong wasn't sure what he was capable off, doubt clouded his mind many times as he thought he wasn't making any progress with his training and got frustrated, becoming angered and storming off, during these times he was on the verge of giving into chaos..... However, when Sun showed signs of straying from the righteous path Tao always pulled him back from the brink of despair. Although, despite this there was always one thing Tao was never able to do, that being to cement Sun Wukong's place with law and order, in time though it's one thing he had to come to accept. No matter what Sun was never going to fully embrace order, his rebellious personality and attitude prevented that from becoming a reality, chaos would always cling to his soul one way or the other. Sun would walk a fine line for the remainder of his life, a being that had both order and chaos clawing away inside him, so long as both kept in a state of balance as ying and yang there was nothing to fear, Sun would remain in control. "I won't let that happen, and you'll be there to teach me, right?" ".....That's right Sun. I'll be here for you, as both a mentor and friend." It may have been a bore sitting there all those hours, but they had helped him get stronger, physically and mentally. A grin tugged at Sun's mouth and then............ The dream faded away. (Post end.)

So here's a topic I haven't seen here before! Personality typology and how useful it is in context to character writing. We all understand that fitting humans into categories in reality is very much like ethnic/cultural stereotyping, and isn't the most helpful for understanding real people in a ton of depth (aside from perhaps the way they view the world and take in information in more general terms). But fictional characters tend to be more formulaic, and writers tend to give them a more simplistic lens through which they view/engage with the world. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Your personal methods to character creation/writing? How helpful is personality typology in your opinion?
  17. 2 points
A friend of mine used to say that you need to take caution with the using the tests, because personality tends to change with years. I suppose this applies to characters and it can be dependent on their circumstances? Characters tend to be molded by the plot events, character interactions, which like you mentioned can be formulaic. But that being said, I think it's helpful for ambiverts/introverts/extroverts to characterize characters who they are not used to. Extroverted characters often tend to be villains, whilst introverted characters are the main character. Whether this is because introverts are more introspective and enrich the narrative or the writers are introverted themselves, I don't know. I think Myers Briggs helps you characterize a wide range of personalities.

So there's apparently five projects to be announced. It's possible it could be Tenchu which was a FromSoft ninja game originally released in 1998 set in 16th century Japan. Or it could be hinting at a Kuon remake which was a survival horror game also by FromSoft. Or it could be Shadow Tower 2 which is not surprisingly also by From Soft. Shadow Tower was a dungeon crawler. Maybe it's Phantom Wail, the rumoured Soulsborne game with an Aztec/Mayan setting? The writing in the background of the trailer is traditional Japanese writing. You can see the forearm tightening up almost like making a fist. Looked like leg bone connected to a breaking wheel hinge. Perhaps we're getting a Mario Kart game featuring Soulsborne characters? Ha ha ha. (I can only dream...) Anyways. More speculation from interviews: So there are several titles that we are currently working on [...] Some of those are dark fantasy, some of those could be a mech [game] - that's one thing. The second thing is that one of the new titles I've been working on will probably comply with the expectations from the fans in straightforward manner. "The last thing is that another title will probably be a little bit weird. When we actually announce the title, probably fans will react with 'oh, what the hell is this very weird game that Miyazaki has created - Dark fantasy (Dark Souls similar?). One of the new titles will probably be Dark Souls/Bloodborne with a different setting but same mechanics. As for the last one? Survival horror? Soulsborne Kart? A karaoke game?

Here's the end of chapter 14 of The Time Displaced Sith that's giving me hell. ------------------ Qui-Gon nodded slowly. “Perhaps Nathrrya is correct; I withdraw my request to train Anakin.” The Sith placed her hands on Anakin’s shoulders “Anakin needs to be trained, for his own safety and those around him.” She said glaring at the Jedi Council “You all sense his potential now at nine imagine what he’ll be like in another ten years. If you tell me that doesn’t concern you I’ll gladly call you a lair. And I shouldn’t need to mention the Bantha in the room that is Sidious.” “You you think Sidious knows about Anakin?” Mace asked clearly worried about such a thing. “If he doesn’t it’s only a matter of time before he does.” Nathrrya said “And that I’m sure we can all agree is something best avoided if at all possible.” Yoda nodded slowly “Consider more the matter of Anakin’s possible training we shall.” “Speaking of Sith, Nathrrya.” Mace said leaning forward “We were able to locate records of your cousin Jedi Master Casavir Therin as well as Master Kira Carsen in the Archives and there are several instances where they both reportedly fought alongside a female human Sith identified only as Darth Avarice. We were wondering if you knew anything about her?” Nathrrya rocked back on her heals in mild surprise. “Darth Avarice... Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time... a long time.” She said nodding slowly in recognition of her old title. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan shared a knowing look as it took them seconds to fit the pieces together. Darth Avarice and Nathrrya were the same person. They silently agreed that the Council was in for quite a shock. “You know her?” Plo Koon asked sounding slightly surprised. Nathrrya grinned “Well of course I know her, she’s me!”

The best parts of any story in my opinion are the characters and themes. The message the story is getting across, and the cast through which it is told. Therefore I have fun writing interesting characters with depth and nuance, and some basis in reality. I like subtle, thought-provoking messaging, stories that really prick at the heartstrings and don't leave the mind once the story is finished.

Pretty much the same as Pyro, minus the "horrifically stupid" moments. Not to say they don't happen, but the best horror is when the characters do everything right and they still fail. Oh, and political intrigue.

    Uploading Images

This is really important. Please do not directly upload images to the forum if possible. I advise you to use something like postimage or tinypic for image hosting. The only times you can upload an image directly is for your profile headers avatars and signatures. Uploading images directly here (and I can tell!) uses up valuable server space and I'm on a restricted plan. I would prefer not to pay a hefty fee each month for cloud storage.

2018 is fast approaching. It's already November, and that means 8 weeks from the new year. As tradition, the forum is closed between the 27th of December to the 30th of December so the upgrades and changes can happen. Here are some early spoilers (more will be released as that final week draws closer) Member of the Month Change in staffing positions and role descriptions Minor forum layout changes to reflect this new feature More forum interactivity with this other new feature Fortnightly polls There's also a very exciting feature coming that I can't wait for you guys to try out. I'm positive you'll enjoy it, and I can see a lot of usage. It'll definitely be beneficial for those of you who like to participate in challenges because this will make it far more organized than our current system. In a few weeks from now, I'm going to be explaining what the new staff and member roles will be. If you're interested in one, just reply to the thread (when it is created). If you have any questions, feel free to ask by replying here, and I'll do my best not to spoil it for you. Other current staff members are aware of these upcoming changes so you can ask them as well.

So heartbroken to hear about all the disgusting sexual abuse women experience every day. We need to stop normalizing sexism and start driving the nails in the coffin for the rape culture we are living in. The thing that surprises me the most is the lack of resistance from men. Many guys don't even say a thing when they see their male friends abusing girls. We guys need to step the fuck up when we see such things happening, and show that this is not okay. We need to alienate rape and sexual abuse, we should have a long time ago. And as I said, we guys need to get MUCH better at showing other guys that it's wrong to sexually abuse someone. Rapists getting support from their guy friends is just so disgusting. It's like it's a competition. And don't be scared to call yourself a feminist. People who are like "Well, I don't wanna call myself a feminists because of the radical feminists", that's like saying "I don't want to call myself a human because that murderer I saw in the newspaper was a human". It's ridiculous! (And just to clear up, I am NOT comparing radical feminists to Murderers. I fully support radical feminism.) For real guys. This is our fight as well. A way that the macho culture affects men is the fact that men are portrayed as strong, tough guys with limited feelings above their beltline. Men aren't allowed to cry. Men aren't allowed to show feelings. Men aren't allowed to be soft. This stereotype damages people, seriously. Sexism hurts everyone. If we get rid of the rape culture and the ridiculous stereotypes, I think the world would be many many times better than the one we live in right now. Yes, we've come a long way from the middle ages, but not nearly long enough. Sorry for the long post but I just wanna put this out there.

    Poetry of Light and Darkness

Wrote this after hearing some sad stuff at my school. The world is full of depression, really. _______________________________ People walk connected to screens Words traveling across the world Yet they don't. A void of boxes surrounded in darkness Shadows caused by a lone screen It reads "I love you" A question rings: was it ever received? Ever read, Ever seen? ...It's gone now. A man stands loosely, his heart heavy his face sad his eyes lonely There is a phone in his hand. A single breath escapes He falls forward heart weighing him down The phone clatters to the ground. ...But there is no ground beneath the body. The phone then turns on Words are on the screen "I love you" it says And above that is the message One surrounded in darkness.

    Aquila's Dark Souls 1 Journey

25th of November, 2017 Chapter One - The Chosen Undead... is Chosen I'm participating in the Dark Souls 1 challenge (I tend to do a yearly marathon around this time of the year) and I'll be sharing my wonderful journey here with you all. The goal is to complete each game in seven days (so I should have everything done by Christmas... I hope). I haven't played this game in quite a few months so I'm going to be rusty (which naturally makes for great comedic material as you can laugh at my misfortunes). Laugh at my misfortunes as I attempt to survive this land of dangers and fight off rabid beasts. Hopefully, I can get some quality videos of my undead journey. I'll share my videos in this thread since I'm using the actual video section for other stuff. There'll be plenty of screen shots, and I may even Anyways. This is Lucifer, a female pyromancer. I'll try and update this whenever I play.

November 30th, 2017 Chapter Three Continued: Exploring the Undead Burg (No stats because I forgot to take a screen shot but I was around level 10) Lucifer took on many foul lesser demons today and emerged victorious! However, she experienced her first death against the Taurus Demon because she got too overconfident and careless. The important battles and events: Learning how to parry correctly after a minor bump Killing the shopkeeper because Lucifer is a serial demon killer and really wanted that uchi Killing the black knight (the cheese way of course). Lucifer hoped to get the black knight sword drop to cheese the rest of the game, but unfortunately she ended up with the shield instead. Now she has to play up until Anor Londo the hard way. Killing the Taurus Demon... Well failing to. Doing it a second time and doing it properly Lucifer considered fighting Havel the Rock, but the damage was so low, she knew she would be here for an hour at least hacking away. She added the name to her hit list and vowed to come back at a later date. In the next episode, Lucifer will take a trip to the catacombs to speed run an area meant for much later.

November 30th, 2017 Chapter Three: I Don't Think I'm Supposed to be Here Starting Stats of the Chapter The crow dropped Lucifer at some ruins near a bonfire. There was a sad man nearby so Lucifer talked to him. His name was Timmy, and he had some advice for Lucifer, but Lucifer didn't really listen and kinda tuned out as she had a short attention span. She learned she was in Firelink Shrine and apparently it was a gathering place for lonely people seeking companionship. He was a bit too depressed for her liking so she moved on and picked up shinies. Shinies were good. She found some cool stuff, but things she didn't intend to use. She moved up into the abandoned shrine and found a man called Ted. He was a deeply religious man, and didn't seem too thrilled talking to Lucifer. She suspected he was scared of her skin disease, but she was still filled with great determination and talked to him. He realized he was rude and decided to make up for it by giving her a coin. Lucifer was not impressed. She kept talking to him. He caved in and offered to teach her some miracles so she could become religious too. She had nothing to lose so why not? She became a nun. She intended to learn some miracles but her faith was not yet quite strong enough so she left him and walked up the stairs near him and found another shiny. There was a lift nearby that wasn't working. She took the chance and dropped down and found some chests. She looted them then fell down another crack. She was now in a graveyard. She approached some bones. They started moving. She watched in horror as they started moving. Skeletons. She tried to fight them, but they could back flip and do somersaults. Apparently, they must've been gymnasts when they were the living. She ran like a coward back to the bonfire ignoring the shinies, not wanting to get killed by skeleton gymnasts. She continued on with her journey going up the flight of stairs past the big tree in the distance. More undead soldiers waited to kill her. One threw fire bombs and the other tried to plunge attack her but missed and fell over the side of the cliff. She killed them all and walked up more stairs then entered the sewers. There was a big rat there. She stabbed it in the butt like you do with rats and got the shiny. She moved on and exited the sewers and entered town. More things wanted to kill her, but she killed them first. Now she was in a place called Undead Burg. Another guy threw a fire bomb at her face. She was not happy. Her skin was already in terrible condition. Eventually, she cleared them all out and entered through the fog door, stepping out onto a bridge. She was about to cross it when a big red dragon landed for a split second to troll her. It flew away up onto another much longer bridge. Praise the sun She moved on and found even more undead. She taught them all a lesson, killed the sniper dude then took a break at the bonfire and did some dark magic on it to give her more alcohol.

    Sims 4 Log

November 27th, 2017 So I decided to start playing this game because it was on sale and I loved the third one. I currently only have the base game but I'll pick up the expansions. Anyway, my Sims family is naturally Lance and Lyra from Pokemon. I plan to get them together. Gary Oak and Clair (Lance's sister in this one) are also there because why not. They live with Edward Blackthorn. Four teenagers and an old dude. They're dirt poor and live in a house that has no roof (lol). They currently have no windows either because windows are overrated. All they have is some walls, a door, a cheap toilet, a cheap shower, no rooms, five cheap beds and a cheap fridge. They don't have any chairs or anything so everyone eats on the floor. Dark Souls 1 Challenge

I'm planning on playing all the Soulsborne games again (in order) and I'm hoping you join me in this exciting adventure. You will get a thread each to post details about your journey. The rules are simple. You can't summon help at all. You have to solo bosses. Screenshots are love. I want to see your beautiful people. Sometimes images don't tell a full story, so videos are recommended as well. Share your deaths. Share your highlights. Don't be ashamed if you die. Your build at the end of the session. Screenshots are again the easiest way to achieve this. Will you join me? If you don't have the first one, you can start with the second one. Just play the ones you do have. @Mr Selfish @Bunny Hop! @TJMike @Laggy @Lady Mechanika @Lightningblade49 @FishSlayer @Kage @deviLz @VectorLogic@Shizophrenia

So far I'm enjoying it. Granted I haven't played much. I've been busy since yesterday. The world feels more vibrant than the original, which to me is step up. There's a wider variety of pokemon too which is great. I actually want to keep catching stuff!

It was so funny now that I think about it and all the rage has died down... A few days ago when they revealed the Fighter Pack 3 during the Injustice 2 championship on Twitch, everyone on chat was like 'YEEEEEEAAAAHHH! Finally, after waiting for hours, we get to see the FP3 trailer'... and then the Ninja Turtles went out and literally everyone in chat (myself included lol) was like 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO whereisconstantine/rorschach!?!?!?!' I'm still mad neither of them are in the game, but that bit was funny anyways lol

    Book recommendations

I'd recommend the Becker Cooper novels by Tamora Pierce. It's a police and detective story written in diary format, at a time when the line between police and criminal was blurred… It can be a little slow, and sometimes reads more like first-person narration than diary format, but is still a very good read… Also, the author has written several other books taken place in the same universe. They all ranged from decent to very good. She's worth checking out. She's also known for her use of female heroines, a lot of times in places where there aren't a lot of females.

    Weird stuff you're afraid of.

Bees...I'm afraid of bees. I had a swarm chase me once.... My philosophy is this, "The only good bee is a dead bee." I realize they are helpful to nature and such, but they are more than welcome to be helpful as far away from me as possible.
